Description
Alarm.com is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a technical multiplier across its Strategic Partner eXcellence and Device Platform domains. The role owns complex, cross-cutting initiatives involving device APIs, event pipelines, device lifecycle management, transport and protocol infrastructure, and partner-facing platform capabilities; leads architectural design and reusable frameworks; drives delivery, observability, reliability, and operational standards; and mentors engineers across the organization. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience, at least 10 years of backend software engineering experience, and strong expertise in backend platform engineering, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API design. The role carries director-level visibility and offers a base salary of $150,000–$190,000 USD, with employees working from the office four days per week.
