Description

KnowBe4 is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the engineering of its core Security Awareness Training product. The role is a full-stack position spanning Ruby on Rails APIs, GraphQL, Vue 3 and SvelteKit front-ends, AWS microservices, serverless processing, multi-tenant data systems, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD. The engineer will own major subsystems, provide technical direction, set engineering patterns, coordinate cross-team architecture, and help maintain compliance with FedRAMP Moderate, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 standards.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years scaling production Ruby on Rails applications
Strong proficiency with a modern component framework and strict TypeScript
Deep experience with AWS services
Experience designing event-driven architectures and managing asynchronous processing at scale
Staff-level technical leadership experience, including ADRs, cross-team design, and compliance-regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications: Vue 3 experience for micro-frontend direction
SvelteKit experience for the current codebase
Experience leading a front-end framework migration end-to-end
Deep experience scaling production Rails under real traffic
Serverless background-processing frameworks at scale
DynamoDB and Redis data modeling for high-throughput workloads
Familiarity with FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 environments
Experience integrating AI tooling into team engineering workflows
