Priority Commerce is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Waterloo, Ontario, to lead the design and evolution of complex, distributed systems across multiple teams within a product domain. The role focuses on scalable and reliable system architecture, API and service design, data modeling, observability, reliability, incident response, engineering standards, and the responsible development of AI-enabled product and operational capabilities. The position requires approximately 8–12 years of experience, strong distributed-systems expertise, and familiarity with the company’s Node.js/NestJS, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, and AI platform stack. Compensation is $128,000–$168,000 CAD, with medical, dental, and vision coverage and other benefits.
