Description

Proofpoint is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Satori AI Platform team. This role involves driving the architecture of an internal platform used by various product teams to develop agentic applications, focusing on areas such as AI-assisted development, release gates, observability, and authentication for AI workloads. The successful candidate will design agent runtimes and SDKs using languages like Python and TypeScript/Node.js, define release readiness criteria, partner with product teams to integrate platform capabilities, and mentor engineers.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Prior experience taking agentic or LLM-based systems to production
Hands-on work with agent frameworks (LangGraph, OpenAI/Anthropic Agents SDK, MCP, LangChain) and eval tooling (LangSmith, Braintrust, promptfoo, or similar)
Strong fluency with OpenTelemetry, including the GenAI semantic conventions, and a track record of debugging distributed systems from traces
Experience designing, developing, and supporting applications in a microservices cloud environment
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to see the big picture, collaborate with cross-product teams, and drive architectural conversations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion, curiosity, integrity, and outstanding attention to detail while performing tasks
A "get it done" attitude consistent with a team where everyone writes code
