Description
Standard Bots is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to work on-site with a large robotics API customer in the San Francisco Bay Area for the first nine to twelve months, then continue on the SDK and external APIs team. The role owns the technical vision for realtime streaming control, Python SDK, ROS 2 integration, and safety limits; leads complex customer-facing projects; ships production fixes across TypeScript/Node, Python, React, C++, Kubernetes, and ROS 2; and converts customer problems into reliable platform capabilities. The position requires 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong distributed-system debugging, customer judgment, and fluency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js, with robotics and realtime control experience preferred. The role is primarily on-site in the Bay Area, with onboarding in New York City and periodic returns to New York, and offers a base salary of $215,000 to $275,000 plus stock options and benefits.
