Description

Sumo Logic is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer focused on cloud cost and engineering efficiency. The role works within the Product SRE organization to identify and fix inefficiencies in code, architecture, and infrastructure across Sumo Logic’s petabyte-scale AWS microservices platform. Responsibilities include production profiling, capacity and performance engineering, resource-optimization code, cost-efficiency metrics, cross-team engineering initiatives, and participation in SRE reliability activities. The position is hybrid in Noida or Bangalore and requires a computer science or related degree, at least 8 years of industry experience, strong systems and distributed-systems expertise, production code in an object-oriented or systems language, and AWS cloud fluency.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: B.Tech, M.Tech, or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of industry experience with a demonstrated track record of ownership
Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures in production
Experience independently identifying performance, scalability, or cost problems and driving measurable production improvements
Experience working with AWS compute, storage, and networking infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications: JVM tuning and GC optimization experience at scale
Exposure to cost-attribution or FinOps practices or tooling
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or modern CI/CD tooling
Prior SRE experience with on-call, SLOs, and incident response
Experience with streaming technologies or observability/security platforms
