Scribd, Inc. is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Everand Core team to set technical direction for the backend platform powering Everand’s web and mobile experiences. The role owns backend reliability, platform health, distributed systems, observability, modernization, and cross-functional architecture, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product, design, analytics, web, mobile, and machine learning teams. Candidates should have significant backend engineering experience, a strong track record scaling distributed systems, and technical leadership experience; Ruby, Scala, Go, or Python are relevant, with Ruby preferred.
