Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to architect and develop scalable manufacturing applications that connect shop-floor equipment with enterprise systems. The role leads backend system design, technical guidance, code quality, performance optimization, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders. It is a hybrid position available from Palo Alto, Irvine, California, or Normal, Illinois, and requires 10+ years of professional software development experience, strong backend and embedded systems expertise, industrial protocol knowledge, API and data-processing experience, and familiarity with DevOps and edge computing technologies.
