Description
Plaid is hiring a Staff Software Engineer on Data Governance to set technical direction for distributed backend systems that enforce data governance at scale. The role owns the architecture for data deletion, access restrictions, tracking, and auditability across dozens of services; leads multi-quarter cross-team initiatives; sets engineering standards; partners with Legal, Privacy, Security, and product-engineering teams; and mentors engineers. Candidates need extensive experience building and operating distributed backend systems, typically in Go, Java, or a similar language, along with strong data-store, consistency, reliability, and stakeholder-communication skills.
