Johnson Controls is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Embedded Networking to extend Airwall Zero Trust technology onto new devices and hardware, own embedded software on constrained OpenWRT and ARM platforms, and work through the secure data path using identity-based overlay networking, IPsec, ESP, IKE, tunnel encapsulation, NAT traversal, Layer 2 connectivity, and PKI. The role also involves modernizing the technology stack, diagnosing packet-level networking failures, improving code quality and performance, and mentoring engineers. It is a remote position for United States-based candidates and offers a salary range of $130,000 to $180,000 plus a bonus plan and benefits.
