Description

WEX is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Data Acquisition Team to architect and develop core Data-as-a-Service platform capabilities, initially focused on enterprise Master Data Management. The role involves building scalable software, APIs, data pipelines, integration frameworks, data quality and governance components, and AI-enabled capabilities, while leading architecture, production troubleshooting, reliability, security, CI/CD, and mentoring. Candidates need 8+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python, Java, or comparable programming skills, distributed systems and cloud/data platform experience, practical AI development experience, and familiarity with enterprise MDM concepts and technologies such as Reltio, Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, AWS, and S3.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale data solutions.
Experience building production APIs, cloud services, data pipelines, and batch or event-driven integrations.
Hands-on practical AI development experience with AI-assisted tools and AI-enabled solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: Enterprise MDM experience, including Reltio or another commercial MDM platform.
Experience delivering Customer 360, customer onboarding, Search Before Create, or enterprise identity services.
Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, AWS, S3, infrastructure as code, and cloud observability platforms.
Experience in financial services, payments, risk, or another regulated environment.
Architecture leadership, production troubleshooting, mentoring, and technical influence.
