Description
Mercury is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture, implementation, and long-term roadmaps for core fraud prevention systems. The role owns end-to-end delivery of large cross-functional projects, designs highly available and low-latency backend systems for real-time scoring and decisioning, partners with data science and machine learning teams to productionize models and data pipelines, establishes engineering best practices, mentors engineers, and influences technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 7–10+ years of backend software development experience, technical leadership experience, product-building experience, and knowledge of or interest in Haskell; fintech, fraud systems, or risk experience is a plus. The role offers a US base salary of $200,700–$298,800 and a Canadian base salary of $189,700–$282,400, plus equity and benefits.
