Toast is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack for its Guest team to design, build, deploy, and maintain resilient and scalable features for restaurant guest engagement, retention, and growth. The role leads complex projects, partners with cross-functional teams, implements automated testing, monitors feature success, collaborates with UX and product management, and mentors other engineers. Candidates need 8–12 years of backend and API experience, extensive Java or Kotlin experience, cloud-native AWS experience, distributed-systems expertise, and experience influencing technical direction across teams. The position follows a hybrid work model.
