Description
Docker is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Networking to set technical direction for the networking stack behind its Sandboxes platform and make architectural decisions affecting its product portfolio. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating scalable networking services for microVM orchestration, workload scheduling, lifecycle management, and multi-tenant agentic workloads across local and public-cloud environments. Responsibilities include reliability, observability, production debugging, on-call incident response, CI/CD improvements, and technical leadership of a small engineering team. The position requires 8+ years of experience in large-scale cloud or distributed systems, networking foundations, container networking, service mesh, orchestration, and kernel or user-space networking technologies, along with a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Compensation is $170,350–$275,550 plus equity in the United States, with remote-first work and offices in Seattle and Paris.
