Duetto is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Dev Platform team to own the architecture and modernisation of a high-throughput Java/Spring monolith that processes millions of rate decisions daily. The role involves defining service boundaries, building event-driven data flows, improving GraphQL and backend services, operating and tuning databases and observability tools, pioneering AI-augmented engineering workflows, and mentoring engineers across US and European teams. The position is remote in Croatia and requires at least seven years of production backend systems experience, deep Java expertise, event-driven architecture experience, AWS production experience, and a demonstrated ability to drive architecture decisions.
