Description
The Staff Software Engineer will provide technical leadership for instrument-control software, laboratory automation, workflow orchestration, and AI-enabled instrumentation. The role designs automation frameworks, integrates scientific instruments and robotics, develops AI-driven troubleshooting and workflow capabilities, supports complex diagnostics, and helps define the long-term technical roadmap for connected instruments and increasingly autonomous laboratory workflows. The position requires an advanced degree with at least six years of professional software development experience or a bachelor’s degree with at least eight years, along with experience in scientific instrumentation, laboratory automation, robotics, and AI-enabled engineering. The role is based in an office and offers a California salary range of $129,400 to $175,000 plus potential variable bonus and benefits.
