Description

Zocdoc is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Marketplace Insurance team to lead insurance and cost-transparency features, own 0–1 projects across the technology stack, and provide technical leadership. The role involves designing and shipping scalable backend systems using C#, React, and AWS; partnering with product, design, data science, and business stakeholders; improving engineering practices; and mentoring engineers. It is a hybrid position based in Zocdoc’s Soho location and offers a base salary of $180,000–$270,000 USD plus variable pay and/or equity.

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of experience building and scaling high-performance, distributed backend systems
Experience shipping code for a complex, user-facing product across multiple technology areas
Experience designing systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and graceful degradation
Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices
Experience evaluating and working with third-party vendors and data providers
