Wealthsimple is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Observability Platform team to design and build the events-first foundation, including wide-event data models, high-throughput ingestion, storage, and query pipelines. The role also owns instrumentation SDKs, OpenTelemetry conventions, AI-agent query foundations, and technical standards while mentoring senior engineers and leading cross-team initiatives. Candidates should have significant software engineering experience, typically 8+ years, with hands-on experience across multiple languages, observability or telemetry platforms, event-based systems, and AI coding tools.
