Description
Airwallex is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Payments Team to define the technical direction of the Payments platform, lead complex architecture decisions, and build highly reliable, high-volume distributed systems. The role focuses on payment acceptance infrastructure, REST APIs, event-driven systems, microservices, payment gateways, acquiring, issuing, card networks, and local payment methods, while partnering with product, business, infrastructure, and external engineering teams. The position requires 10+ years of software engineering experience, strong distributed-systems expertise, recent Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot experience, cloud and container experience, and the ability to lead projects from concept to production.
