Description
Reddit is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Site Defense team to design, build, and operate high-scale, low-latency infrastructure that protects Reddit from DDoS attacks, bots, scrapers, and other network-level abuse. The role spans ingress-level defenses, real-time traffic scoring and mitigation, distributed systems, networking, security, machine learning, incident response, and operational excellence, while also mentoring junior engineers. Candidates need at least seven years of experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems, programming experience, and knowledge of networking fundamentals; DDoS mitigation, bot management, and production machine learning experience are preferred. The position is remote and offers a base salary of $217,000 to $303,900 USD plus equity and benefits.
