Description
Gusto is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Time/Scheduling product team to own the full product lifecycle, including frontend and backend development, testing, product iteration, and long-term reliability. The role involves mentoring engineers, scaling large Ruby/Rails and JavaScript/React applications, collaborating with product, data, design, and platform teams, and applying AI tools to accelerate development and testing. Candidates should have at least 8 years of software development experience, experience with large-scale refactors and performance issues, and familiarity with Ruby on Rails. The position is based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York City, with hybrid office expectations of approximately 2–3 days per week.
