Description

Intuitive is hiring a Vision Software Staff Engineer to lead the software and embedded architecture for real-time, high-definition video processing, imaging, and intra-body illumination systems on a new surgical robotic platform. The role integrates cameras, image sensors, and vision pipelines into multi-processor embedded architectures, develops and debugs vision software, leads risk analyses and diagnostic tools, and mentors engineers. Candidates need a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field and at least 12 years of embedded systems experience, with significant video, imaging, or vision experience; experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field
Required Previous Experiences: At least 12 years developing and supporting embedded systems with significant video, imaging, or vision experience; 8 years with a Master's degree or 5 years with a PhD are also accepted.
Direct experience with imaging devices, including sensor and camera bring-up, configuration, and integration.
Experience debugging complex vision systems through root cause investigation and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience across the full product development lifecycle, including design, implementation, debugging, verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of image processing, CUDA, machine learning, and FPGA integration.
Familiarity with TCP/IP, CAN, and serialization protocols.
Experience designing software products in regulated or mission-critical applications, including design controls and risk analysis.
Leadership of medical technology projects through field validation and launch.
Familiarity with rapid development and prototyping tools.
Capacity to mentor employees at all levels.
