Description

Kong Inc. is hiring a Staff Solutions Engineer - Specialist to serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor for enterprise customers and partners. The role combines DevOps, AI/FinOps, API management, system integration, SRE observability, and automation expertise to guide customers through complex architectural challenges, develop proof-of-concept demonstrations, troubleshoot infrastructure, and support product development. Candidates need extensive solutions-engineering or technical-architect experience, strong API and DevOps knowledge, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role
Solid AIOps experience and/or solid Kafka experience
Expertise in API design and API management principles and best practices
Understanding of authentication mechanisms and cybersecurity best practices
Proficiency with Linux and containerization technologies such as Docker
Extensive experience with Git for version control and collaborative software development
Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
Experience with SRE observability tools and methodologies
Experience with automation technology and scripting for infrastructure and application deployment
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AI trends, orchestration tools, and agentic AI
