Description
The Sterile Processing Technician assists SPD leadership with the overall workflow of a shift, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, packaging, distributing, and maintaining documentation for surgical instruments, implants, supplies, and equipment. The role also operates sterilization and decontamination equipment, troubleshoots instruments and customer issues, supports performance improvement, prepares case carts, coordinates with operating room staff, and trains other technicians. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, current CRCST, IAHCSMM, or CBSPD certification, at least three years of sterile processing experience, and the ability to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
