Description
The Sterile Processing Technician assembles, cleans, disinfects, sterilizes, packages, tracks, and transports surgical and medical instruments and equipment. The role also operates sterilization equipment, distributes supplies and carts, maintains inventory and regulatory records, responds to emergency cases, trains new associates, and may work nights, weekends, overtime, or float to other departments. A high school diploma or equivalent and CRCST certification are required, while previous hospital or clinic operating room experience is preferred.
