The Sterilization Control sterilizes surgical instruments and supplies, wraps and stores them, distributes supplies and equipment, cleans rooms, assembles sterile and nonsterile equipment, and monitors recovery rooms. The role also changes gauze after procedures, provides post-operative instructions, and escorts patients to their vehicles when needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, prior experience is preferred, and current CPR certification is required.
