xAI is looking for experienced storage and database engineers to integrate their advanced AI infrastructure into a platform with 600 million monthly users. The role involves designing, building, and launching new features for exabyte-scale S3-compatible object stores, multi-tenant transactional key/value stores, caching tiers, scalable vector databases, and other specialized databases. Engineers will focus on performance, incident response, mentoring, and continuous learning while working with a tech stack that includes Java, Scala, Rust, Go, C/C++, Linux, Kubernetes, Puppet, FoundationDB, ValKey, S3, RockDB, Memcache, Redis, and MySQL.
