Microsoft is hiring a Principal Hardware Engineer to serve as the Storage System Technical Lead for next-generation Azure storage hardware platforms. The role provides end-to-end system technical leadership across hardware, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, datacenter integration, and operations; owns technical readiness, design quality, cross-functional integration, and program-level decisions; and leads complex issue resolution and system design reviews. Candidates need a relevant master's degree with 7+ years of technical engineering experience or a relevant bachelor's degree with 8+ years, plus the ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
