Description

The New Student Orientation Program Assistant supports Cal State East Bay’s year-long onboarding program for incoming students, including orientation sessions, workshops, logistics, databases, student guidance, program materials, and administrative coordination. The role also supports recognized student organizations and university committees. It is a full-time, temporary position through June 30, 2026, with possible reappointment, and is based in the East Bay with onsite and telecommute eligibility.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field
Required Previous Experiences: Equivalent to one year of professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of cultural values and educational barriers for low-income, underrepresented students
Ability to use computerized admission, registration, advising, and financial aid systems
Knowledge of university admissions and financial aid policies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Knowledge of PeopleSoft applications
Knowledge of or ability to learn CSU policies and procedures
Current California driver’s license and personal transportation
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Availability to work weekends and evenings when required
