Description
The Poway Unified School District is hiring a Student Services Assistant to provide behavioral and social support to elementary-school students, including tutoring, monitoring out-of-class activities, presenting social-emotional and prevention lessons, documenting referrals, maintaining records, and assisting with clerical and program-supply tasks. The position is part-time at 3 hours per day or 15 hours per week for 9.5 months, is not a benefited position, and requires one year of experience working with children in an organized setting. Candidates with a valid California teaching credential or a bachelor's degree and CBEST may be placed at Step 6 of the salary range; new employees are placed at Step 1. Selection involves screening, a competitive examination, and ranking on an eligibility list.
