Description
HDR is hiring a Substation Electrical EIT to support electrical substation design and construction projects. The role includes preparing drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for low-, medium-, and high-voltage substations; developing one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing, AC and DC system calculations, and grounding; reviewing engineering documents; conducting site visits; and assisting with cost estimates and specifications. The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, Microsoft Office skills, and US citizenship; prior engineering-consulting experience, power or construction industry experience, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency, and electrical design software experience are preferred. The role requires a strong in-office presence four to five days per week, and candidates without EIT certification at hire will be titled Substation Electrical Coordinator.
