The City of Lawrence is hiring a Supervisor Solid Waste to supervise field crews responsible for collecting and disposing of commercial and residential solid waste, including trash, recycling, and yard waste. The role involves assigning and directing crews, participating in field operations, training staff, preparing schedules and reports, learning Routeware and billing systems, and assisting with the Solid Waste Division’s annual budget. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least four years of increasingly responsible experience including two years of lead or supervisory experience in solid waste collection or related program management, a valid Kansas driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within the first year.
