Description
The Surgery Coordinator serves as the primary patient point of contact for complex surgical cases, coordinating referrals, schedules, treatment programs, insurance pre-determinations and appeals, and pre- and post-surgical appointments. The role requires clinical knowledge, strong communication, scheduling, EMR documentation, insurance coordination, risk-management participation, and the ability to travel to other offices; up to 10% of the role may involve assisting with surgical procedures. A bachelor's degree in a health sciences-related field or a high school diploma with equivalent healthcare experience, CPR certification, and Microsoft Office proficiency are required, while surgery-facility and CPT/ICD-9 coding experience are preferred.
