Description
The Surgical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care, assists surgeons and other healthcare providers during operative procedures, supports complex cases and PI projects, trains new team members, and maintains continuing education. The role requires an associate degree in Surgical Technology, completion of a CAAHEP- or ABSA-accredited Surgical Assistant program, current CPR certification, and one of three specified surgical technology certifications. At least three years of experience as a certified surgical technologist is required, while two years of clinical Surgical Assistant experience is preferred.
