Description
The Surgical Assistant supports oral and maxillofacial surgery by performing patient-care activities, assisting physicians with extractions, biopsies, implants, bone grafts, and other procedures, preparing patients and rooms, documenting care, managing supplies and equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, sterilization knowledge, CPR certification, and completion of an Oral & Maxillofacial Anesthesia Assisting Program; oral and maxillofacial surgery experience and NC dental x-ray certification are preferred. The work involves frequent patient and chemical exposure, radiation hazards, and physical activity including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
