Description
The Surgical First Assistant assists the surgeon during safe surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, setting up sterile supplies, exposing the operative site, providing hemostasis, assisting with wound closure, maintaining instrument and supply counts, transporting and positioning patients, and supporting preoperative and postoperative care. The role requires an associate’s degree or accredited surgical first-assist training, BLS certification, Illinois registration, and one year of experience with at least 120 logged cases. Compensation is $30.57 to $47.38 per hour.
