Required Previous Experiences: Experience assisting nurses and surgeons in identifying, gathering, and preparing medical instrumentation.
Experience ensuring proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies to maintain asepsis and patient safety.
Experience preparing the sterile field and assisting in operative site preparation and patient draping.
Experience cleaning and assembling instruments, checking for defects, and properly wrapping and labeling them.
Experience testing and reporting issues with equipment.
Experience collecting and transporting operative setups.
Experience assisting in cleaning and restocking rooms.
Experience assisting in taking inventory of equipment and supplies.
Ability to coordinate and delegate tasks, and provide advanced training to junior staff.
Ability to instruct junior surgical technologists on procedural steps and instrument usage.
Ability to identify and report patient care needs.
