Description

The Surveyor I is an entry-level marine surveying role at ABS for new graduates or candidates with fewer than five years of applicable experience. Working under an experienced surveyor and reporting to the port's Principal, Senior, or Surveyor-in-Charge, the role conducts routine surveys of classed vessels, platforms, marine structures, and manufacturers, verifies compliance with ABS classification rules and statutory requirements, prepares accurate inspection reports, maintains survey files, communicates with clients, and develops knowledge of marine engineering, shipbuilding, vessel operations, safety systems, and office procedures. The position requires relevant engineering, physical science, marine, or nautical qualifications, potentially applicable certifications or licenses, English proficiency, and the physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in demanding industrial environments.
