Description
The Surveyor I is an entry- or junior-level marine surveying role at ABS for new graduates or candidates with fewer than five years of applicable experience. Under the guidance of an experienced surveyor, the role performs routine surveys and inspections of classed vessels, platforms, marine structures, and manufacturers for classification and statutory compliance, prepares accurate reports, maintains survey files, works with clients to resolve technical problems, and develops knowledge of ABS rules, shipbuilding, vessel operations, engineering systems, and port-office procedures. The position requires relevant engineering, physical science, marine, or nautical qualifications, strong English communication, and the physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in demanding industrial environments.
