Description
The West Suburban YMCA is hiring a full-time Swim Instructor to lead and motivate students in swimming classes, prepare lesson plans, maintain safe and engaging aquatic environments, communicate program information, maintain records, attend meetings and training, follow safety procedures, organize equipment, and supervise class aides. The role requires a minimum age of 15, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications, demonstrated YMCA swim-instructor skills, and the ability to swim and demonstrate strokes. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard or YMCA Swim Instructor certification is preferred. Starting pay is $15.50, dependent on experience, certifications, and education, with free membership and a 12% retirement contribution once vested.
