Switchboard Operator at Commonwealth Health

The Telecommunications Operator serves as the initial contact for the public and coordinates calls across multiple hospital departments. The role handles alarm, code, and on-call procedures, manages patient transfers between facilities, completes transfer reports on the Lynx System, and requires clear communication, telephone and reception manners, multitasking, calmness under pressure, and the ability to respond quickly to code alarms. The position is based at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on rotating second- and night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday.
