Description
VIA Visually Impaired Advancement is hiring a Switchboard Operator to work 16–40 hours per week at the Buffalo VA hospital. The role answers external and internal calls, directs callers, executes emergency codes, contacts physicians and hospital teams, provides communication and patient information, and supports hospital staff. The position may require daytime, evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday shifts and requires basic keyboarding, computer, and assistive-technology skills, strong customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of hospital switchboard or related experience are required; documentation of legal blindness is preferred.
