Description
Zoox is hiring a System Safety Engineer to perform safety analyses of complex sensing and perception systems for its autonomous vehicle platform. The role involves defining safety requirements, leading cross-functional projects, applying ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 standards, developing fail-operational sensing architectures, analyzing field and simulation data, and using AI/LLM tools to improve efficiency. Candidates need a related technical degree, at least three years of systems, safety, or related engineering experience, and experience with complex mission-critical systems; sensing hardware, functional safety, SOTIF, Python, Databricks, requirements management tools, and modern perception-stack knowledge are bonus qualifications. The position includes a base salary range, stock-based compensation, and health insurance.
