Waymo is hiring a full-time hybrid System Safety Program Manager to lead end-to-end program planning, milestone roadmapping, OKR definition, and safety readiness across its System Safety organization. The role manages safety workstreams for onboard software, systems engineering, hardware, operations, and product initiatives; establishes safety baselines and deltas; governs safety readiness across vehicle platforms; standardizes safety processes and automated workflows; and serves as the primary safety interface to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Candidates need a BS/MS in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience, 10+ years of technical program management or safety engineering experience in safety-critical domains, and expertise in autonomous vehicle systems, risk management, systems engineering V&V, and project management frameworks. The role requires approximately 5% travel and offers a base salary of $241,000–$297,000 USD across United States locations.
