Description
Kong is hiring a Systems Engineer for its Core Team to design, build, and maintain API management software and its underlying stack. The role focuses on proxying, load balancing, database support, distributed systems, Linux systems troubleshooting, performance tuning, low-level optimization, and integration with third-party deployment platforms. Candidates need at least five years of server-side programming, experience with scalable and resilient applications, distributed systems, Linux networking, and computer systems programming, along with remote collaboration and strong communication skills. Familiarity with AI LLM concepts is required, while NGINX/OpenResty/Kong/LuaJIT, Envoy or Istio, and Rust experience are bonuses.
