Description

Rocket Lab is hiring a Systems Engineer – Mechanical to support the Neutron launch vehicle across mechanical and fluid systems, including thermofluids, propulsion, guidance, navigation and control, and structures. The role drives system integration, requirements verification, emergent-system architecture, interface-management processes, technical program decisions, and systems-engineering processes from critical design through integration and launch. It is based in Auckland, New Zealand and requires an engineering degree or equivalent experience, 1–5 years of relevant industry experience, multidisciplinary launch-vehicle systems experience, cross-functional collaboration, communication, deadline management, and engineering design and CAD knowledge.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
Required Previous Experiences: 1–5 years of industry experience in a relevant technical field such as structures, fluid systems, mechanisms, or propulsion
Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary launch-vehicle systems involving fluid systems, structures, mechanisms, and/or propulsion
Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to guide projects from concept to completion
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fault-tolerance strategies and architectures for safety and mission-critical systems
Strong understanding of quality management, standards, regulations, and configuration management
Experience with AIAA S-080, SMC-S-016, and other aerospace standards
Experience with systems-engineering tools such as Rhapsody, DOORS, or Jama
Familiarity with risk management processes
