Description
The Head Start Teacher Assistant supports educators in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, interacts with young children to promote their development, maintains a safe and organized classroom, communicates with parents and staff, keeps attendance and progress records, and implements Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. The role is non-exempt and hourly, typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM during the school year, with occasional travel. Candidates need experience with young children and their families, a high school diploma or equivalent, and must obtain a CDA within 24 months of hire; starting pay is $13.89 per hour.
