The Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction and school operations at the West Side-2131 W Monroe St (R Nathaniel Dett School) under the supervision of a teacher. Duties include supervising students, assisting with classroom assignments and homework, providing tutoring, operating audio-visual and office equipment, maintaining classroom order, greeting visitors, coordinating with parents about absences, and assisting with student transportation and book issuance. The role requires a valid TASN paraprofessional license or the ability to obtain one through college credit or a paraprofessional exam, along with communication, basic mathematics, and school-age-child skills.
