Description
The Special Needs Classroom Teacher facilitates a classroom, supervises all activities and consumers, supports consumers in reaching their goals, maintains records, completes consumer reports, and supervises teachers' aids. The role requires a high school diploma, early childhood education coursework, at least 12 units and six months in a licensed childcare center or similar program, and one year of experience working with special-needs consumers. The position reports to the Social Services Manager and requires the ability to work with diverse special-needs consumers, multitask, maintain records, and perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds.
