Description
The Emergency Department Technician provides direct support to patients, nurses, and physicians in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include patient comfort and room maintenance, preparing supplies and equipment, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, performing venipunctures and wound care, assisting with medication reconciliation, transporting patients, documenting care in the EMR, admitting and transferring patients, and functioning as a unit clerk when assigned. The role requires CNA or EMT-B certification, current Illinois CNA or EMT-B certification, BLS, and de-escalation training, with two years of CNA/EMT-B or office/clerical experience preferred.
